The sterile white of the hospital room had become a second skin. Karina hadn't chosen it; it had chosen her, a stark, unforgiving embrace after the jarring, metal shriek that had ripped through the mundane rhythm of the Seattle street. This time, the wreckage was minor, a fender-bender that felt like a cruel echo, a whisper from the past amplified into a roar. But it was enough. And now, another crash, a lesser trauma, had cemented her fate. She was trapped. Financially ruined and physically battered, the only thing that pulsed with a fierce, undeniable energy was a simmering rage.
