Chapter 6

Chapter 6

Boon and Kael follow the silver thread east to a hill where a tree appears as a tower to her but a tree to him. Beneath it, an old woman tends to first dreams that have been outgrown. She reveals that the silver dream was once a first dream from her tree, sold to the Keeper to hide the secret of where first dreams go. Boon descends into a cavern filled with preserved first dreams in glass orbs. Touching one, she experiences a vision: each first dream is a possible future. The Keeper arrives, and the old woman urges them to escape through a silver-lit tunnel. They flee as the ground trembles.
