Chapter 9
Beyond the Crown of Wisdom
The realization dawns: 'I am not Solomon.' This isn't a loss, but an opening to a different kind of understanding and selfhood.
The air in the dusty archives of Kaunas always hummed with a quiet magic, a symphony of rustling paper and hushed secrets. Danguolė loved it here, surrounded by the tangible echoes of lives lived and stories forgotten. She’d often trace the faded ink on brittle pages, imagining herself as Solomon, the wise king, dispensing justice and understanding the world with a profound clarity. But lately, a tiny seed of doubt had begun to sprout in the garden of her mind. The crown of wisdom felt a little too heavy, a little too tight.
One afternoon, while lost in a particularly ancient ledger, a flicker of movement caught her eye. It was outside, just beyond the tall, arched window. She blinked, rubbing her eyes, convinced it was a trick of the light. But there it was again, a flash of impossible color – a gazelle, not of this earth, but painted in the deepest emerald and the most luminous sapphire. It moved with an ethereal grace, its hooves barely disturbing the air. And then, she heard it. A melody, so pure and clear it seemed to shimmer, weaving through the quiet hum of the archives and settling deep within her heart. It was the song of the green and blue gazelle.
Danguolė’s breath hitched. This was no ordinary creature. It was a vision, a whisper from a world she’d only glimpsed in her wildest dreams. The song, oh, the song! It spoke of ancient forests, of starlit skies, of secrets whispered on the wind. It was a song that felt both familiar and utterly new, a melody that seemed to unlock chambers within her she hadn't known existed.
