The air in the heart of the Whispering Woods was thick with a sorrow that had no name, a tangible weight pressing down on Hana’s shoulders. It clung to the ancient trees like mist, seeping into her very bones. Before her, where the Elder had spoken of a wound in the earth, pulsed a darkness that seemed to drink the light. It was not a physical thing, not a creature of claw and fang, but a void, a negation of all that was vibrant and alive. The Blight.

Hana’s heart thrummed, a frantic hummingbird against her ribs. The flowers within her, usually a kaleidoscope of joy and sorrow, now felt muted, their colors leached by the oppressive atmosphere. Yet, beneath the fear, a steady resolve bloomed, nurtured by the Guardian’s words and the desperate hope of her village. She clutched the smooth, river-worn stone the Guardian had given her, its cool surface a grounding presence against her palm.

"This is where it began," the Guardian’s voice echoed in her mind, serene and ancient. "A place where sorrow was buried, and silence became its tomb."
