The sun, a lazy orange orb, began its descent, painting the sky in hues of rose and lavender. Baba Yaga, her weathered hands still tingling from the scooter's vibrations, hummed a jaunty tune. Anya, on the other hand, clutched the back of the seat like a drowning sailor clinging to driftwood. The Talking Crow, perched precariously on Baba Yaga’s shoulder, preened his iridescent feathers with an air of profound disapproval.
"Another mile, another near-death experience," the crow grumbled, his voice a gravelly rasp. "If we survive this, I'm demanding a lifetime supply of sunflower seeds and a permanently heated perch."
Baba Yaga chuckled, a sound like dry leaves skittering across a cobblestone path. "Nonsense, my feathered friend. This is living! Far better than knitting endless scarves for grandchildren who probably leave them in the back of their closets."
