The air in the Moonstone Caves, usually cool and humming with a gentle, ethereal energy, felt heavy. Luna, her fur still damp from the dew-kissed journey, sat beside Rivergem, the soft glow of the moonstone illuminating their faces. Elder Whiskerwind had just finished his pronouncements, his voice a low rumble that echoed the ancient stones around them. He had spoken of the looming twilight, of the whispers of Shadowclaw growing louder, and of the fragile threads of courage that bound their world. But now, a different kind of chill settled upon them, one born not of the cave’s depths, but of doubt.

He looked from Luna to Rivergem, his ancient eyes seeming to pierce through their very souls. "A test of loyalty will soon come. Remember that the brightest light can be extinguished by a single, misplaced doubt."

As the elder faded back into the deeper recesses of the cave, leaving them bathed in the solitary glow of the moonstone, a strange silence fell between Luna and Rivergem. Luna felt a prickle of unease, not at the elder’s words, but at the way they settled in her mind. She glanced at Rivergem, whose usually bright eyes seemed to hold a flicker of something unreadable.
