Chapter 15
Sister's Resolve
Acceptance dawns. Anya embraces her connection to James and her lineage. The fear begins to recede, replaced by a burgeoning strength and a desire to understand.
The air in the small cabin crackled with an energy that was both new and ancient. Anya, who had lived under the pale sun of this remote valley for so long, felt a shift deep within her bones. It was as if the snow outside, which had always been a silent blanket of peace, was now stirring with a hidden current. Beside her, James, the brother she was only just beginning to know, sat with a quiet intensity that mirrored the storm brewing both within and without. The truth, heavy and sharp, had been laid bare – the stolen years, the fractured memories, the danger that had stalked her like a phantom. And now, a new path, one woven from threads of blood and shadow, lay before her.

Anya looked at him, really looked at him. The haunted look in his eyes, the way his hands, calloused from a life she couldn’t yet fathom, clenched and unclenched, told a story of sacrifice, of a devotion that had endured two decades of absence. He had fought for her, hunted for her, battled the very darkness that had stolen her. And he had found her. He had brought her back to herself, even when she had been lost even to her own mind.
