The city hummed with a sterile, controlled rhythm, each beat a testament to the Neo-Yellow regime's pervasive order. Elara, her stark white uniform a suffocating second skin, moved through the bustling plaza. The chronometer on her wrist, a constant, unsettling companion, flickered, showing a blur of a child’s laughter from a time she couldn’t quite place, then a stark, empty room from a future she desperately wanted to avoid. She’d learned to ignore its disorienting whispers, to focus on the present, on the careful steps required to remain invisible.

Her amber gaze, usually a vibrant beacon of her inner world, was dulled, masked by the carefully cultivated neutrality the regime demanded. It wasn't the overt defiance of her own amber hue, but a more subtle, guarded fear. As Elara drew closer, she noticed the woman’s aura, or rather, the near absence of one. It was like a mist, barely there, a ghost of color struggling to assert itself. But there was a faint, almost imperceptible shimmer of lavender, a hue associated with intuition and empathy, a color that, if amplified, could be perceived as a threat by the Neo-Yellows.
