The Temple of Unos
Leon, Rina, Seeker, Amir, and their new uneasy ally Lexus travel deeper into Thornclaw territory to find the hidden temple of the guardian Unos. They encounter a spectral guardian who tests Leon's heart with a vision of his past and future. Leon passes the trial through an act of compassion, and the temple opens, revealing the third crystal. However, a trap is triggered, sealing them inside with a rising shadow.
The path to the temple wound through the oldest part of the Whispering Woods, where the trees grew so thick that their roots formed natural walls. Leon followed close behind Seeker, his hand resting on the pouch that held the two crystals. They hummed against his hip, a steady rhythm that matched the beat of his heart.
Lexus walked at the rear, her red scales catching the dim light. She moved with a predator’s grace, her eyes scanning every shadow. Rina stayed beside Leon, her staff ready. Amir led the way, her silver hair shining like a beacon.
“How much farther?” Leon asked, his voice low.
