The Heart of the Sanctuary
Inside the sanctuary, Leon and his friends discover a vast chamber that seems to exist outside time. The guardian spirits of the five tribes appear and reveal that the sanctuary is a testing ground for the godblood's worth. Leon must face a trial of unity—not alone, but with his friends. They are pulled into a shared vision of a battle against a rogue godbeast from the past, where they must fight as one. After the trial, the guardians grant Leon a new power: the ability to call upon the spirits of his allies in battle. But the vision also shows Kain's true origin—he was once the guardian spirit of a sixth tribe that fell to corruption. The sanctuary opens a hidden passage toward the final confrontation.
The stone door boomed shut behind them, plunging the corridor into darkness. For a long breath, there was only the sound of their breathing and the distant drip of water. Then, one by one, the runes along the walls began to glow—soft gold, warm as candlelight, casting long shadows across their faces.
Leon felt the fifth crystal pulse against his chest. The air here was different. Heavier. It hummed with a presence that pressed against his skin like a living thing.
“This is the threshold,” Rune said, her voice hushed. “The place where the guardians rest.”
