The Hidden Trial
Leon follows the mysterious Aetha to a hidden grove where she offers him a trial of sacrifice: give up his memories of the old world to fully awaken his godbeast power. Leon refuses, proving his integrity. Aetha reveals herself as a true guardian spirit and grants him the ability to sense Kain's corruption. They return to find One Eye alive, who brings news of a fifth crystal hidden in the kingdom.
The mist curled around Leon's ankles like fingers reaching from the earth. The woman called Aetha stood before him, her silver eyes holding a light that seemed older than the stars. She did not move, but the shadows behind her seemed to breathe.
"What kind of sacrifice?" Leon asked again, his voice steady despite the cold creeping into his chest.
Aetha tilted her head. "The kind that asks you to let go. Of memories. Of attachments. Of the boy you were. To become the godbeast, you must shed the skin of your old life."
