The great oak doors of the Stars Academy loomed before Elias, not as gateways to knowledge, but as a formidable, unyielding barrier. He’d stood here before, a boy clutching a half-baked dream and a heart full of starlight, only to be met with polite, yet firm, dismissal. This time, however, felt different. Master Valerius’s words, sharp as a comet’s tail and warm as a nebulae’s glow, echoed in his mind. *“The gatekeepers are blind, Elias. But the sky sees all.”*

He smoothed down his worn tunic, the roughspun fabric a stark contrast to the polished granite of the Academy’s facade. He wasn't dressed for scholarly pursuit, not in the way the Academy demanded. His hands, calloused from helping his father mend fishing nets, were not those of a scribe accustomed to delicate quill work. Yet, within those hands, and within his very soul, pulsed a rhythm that mirrored the ancient dance of the cosmos, a rhythm Valerius had begun to awaken.

He found Headmaster Thorne in his study, a room that smelled of aged parchment and a faint, almost imperceptible, scent of ozone. Thorne was a man carved from stoic granite, his silver hair meticulously combed, his robes the deepest, most unblemished indigo, embroidered with constellations that seemed to shimmer with an inner light. He sat behind a vast desk, his gaze sharp and assessing as Elias entered, his posture radiating an authority that felt as ancient and unyielding as the Academy itself.
