The silence wasn't always empty. Sometimes, it was a canvas for dreams, a soft blanket against the harsh edges of the world. But then, the void began to whisper. It started subtly, a faint hum beneath the surface of my thoughts, easily dismissed as the usual anxieties of a kid just trying to find his footing. It wasn't a booming voice, no thunderous pronouncements of doom. It was far more insidious, a serpent in the garden of my mind, weaving its way through the tender shoots of hope.

As I stared at it, the whisper began. See? You can’t even draw an eagle. You’ll never capture that kind of power. It’s too much for you.
