They were traversing a forgotten stretch of industrial wasteland, a desolate expanse of skeletal factories and crumbling warehouses that served as a shortcut to the old archives. Dr. Thorne had insisted they retrieve a specific codex from its dusty depths, a text he claimed held the key to understanding the celestial alignments that preceded the Shadow Weaver’s ascendance. Elias, despite his lingering distrust of his estranged father, couldn't deny the urgency in his voice.

"You feel it too, don't you?" Seraphina murmured, her hand brushing his as they navigated a treacherous path of broken concrete. Her touch was a grounding force, a stark contrast to the chaotic energy swirling around them.
