Chapter 18
The Universe Reborn
The tear is sealed. The light returns, brighter than before. The universe breathes a sigh of relief, its fabric restored, though forever changed.
The final stitch pulled taut, a shimmering, incandescent thread that pulsed with the captured light of a thousand newborn suns. Elara’s breath hitched, her fingers trembling as they released the needle. For a moment, a profound silence descended, a hush so deep it felt as though the very universe held its breath. Then, a sound, like the gentle unfurling of a celestial bloom, rippled outwards. It was the sound of mending.

A wave of warmth washed over Elara, not just from the returning light, but from within her own being. It felt like a thousand tiny stars igniting in her chest, a joyous, effervescent celebration. Pip, perched on her shoulder, let out a squeak of pure delight, his denim-scrap fur practically vibrating with excitement. He nudged her cheek with his little snout, a gesture of pure, unadulterated relief.
