Isolde explains that returning from Atheria is not simple. There might be a cost, a sacrifice, or a permanent change required for Mateo to cross back to his own world.

The air in Atheria hummed with a luminescence that wasn't quite light, but more an exhalation of pure being. It clung to Mateo like a second skin, a constant, gentle pressure that no longer felt foreign. He stood beside Isolde, the ethereal guardian whose form shimmered like heat haze on a summer road, on a precipice that overlooked not a valley, but a tapestry of shifting realities. Below, the vibrant, impossible flora of Atheria pulsed with an inner rhythm, and the sky, a canvas of swirling nebulae and twin moons, seemed to breathe.

"You have seen our world, Sergeant Garcia," Isolde's voice was a cascade of wind chimes, each note resonating deep within Mateo's bones. "You have walked among the Lumina, felt the pulse of the Great River. You have, in essence, become a part of Atheria."

Mateo nodded, his gaze distant, fixed on a point beyond the visible horizon. He had learned much since his abrupt arrival. He’d learned that the jungle he knew, the one of sweat and mosquitos and the ever-present threat of unseen dangers, was but a whisper of the true wild. Atheria was a symphony, a living, breathing entity far grander and more complex than he could have ever imagined. He'd seen creatures that defied earthly biology, witnessed plants that sang, and felt a connection to the very fabric of existence that his previous life had only hinted at.
