The air in the ancient cavern was thick with the smell of damp earth and forgotten things. Elara traced the rough, cool surface of the stone wall, her fingers brushing over symbols etched deep into the rock millennia ago. Beside her, the magnificent male Draggif, whom she had come to think of simply as 'Garth,' rumbled a low sound of contemplation. His emerald eyes, usually alight with a fierce intelligence, were now narrowed in concentration as he studied the same pictographs that Elara was trying to decipher.

“These markings…” Garth’s voice, a deep resonance that vibrated through the very stone beneath their feet, was laced with a weariness that belied his power. “They speak of a time before the Great Sundering. A time when our kind and yours… when the worlds were not so separate.”

Elara nodded, her heart a familiar ache of curiosity and longing. She had always felt this pull, this inexplicable connection to the Draggifs, a feeling that gnawed at her whenever the fearful whispers of Oakhaven’s elders reached her ears. But here, in the heart of Draggif territory, surrounded by the echoes of their history, that connection felt less like a strange anomaly and more like a homecoming.
