The hedges loomed, a towering, verdant wall that seemed to stretch on forever. They were not ordinary hedges, Elara quickly realized. Their leaves shimmered with an almost imperceptible iridescence, and they pulsed with a faint, rhythmic hum, like a sleeping giant breathing.
