The Heart of Lumina
Guided by her new companion, Elara journeys towards the rumored 'Heart of Lumina,' a place said to hold the land's greatest secrets.
Elara’s heart thumped a rhythm against her ribs, a frantic drumbeat against the soft, melodic hum of Lumina. Beside her, Flicker, a creature woven from moonlight and mischief, flitted with an easy grace that Elara envied. His wings, like stained-glass fragments catching the dawn, beat silently, propelling him forward. They moved through a landscape painted in hues Elara had only dreamed of – trees with leaves of spun gold, flowers that pulsed with gentle light, and a sky that shifted from sapphire to amethyst with every passing moment.
“Are you sure this is the way, Flicker?” Elara asked, her voice a little breathless. She clutched the worn leather pouch at her side, where the map from her grandmother’s attic lay nestled amongst a few smooth, luminescent stones she’d collected.
Flicker chittered, a sound like tiny silver bells. “The Heart of Lumina is not found on a path, little star-gazer. It is felt. It is where the ancient whispers are loudest, and the light… the light is purest.” He dipped and swirled, a playful dance in the air. “And yes, this way leads to the loudest whispers.”
