Elias sat opposite her, his striking blue puffer jacket a vibrant contrast to the muted tones of the room, his hands clasped tightly in his lap. He had spoken with a quiet intensity, his voice tinged with the earnestness of a believer.
Professor Sharma listened with an unnerving stillness, her gaze sharp and intelligent. Her silver hair was pulled back in a neat bun, and her eyes, behind elegant spectacles, seemed to hold a universe of accumulated knowledge. She hadn’t interrupted, hadn’t dismissed him with a patronizing smile. She had simply absorbed every word, every carefully chosen slide, every nervous tremor in his voice. Now, a profound silence hung in the air, thick with Elias’s anticipation.
Finally, she leaned back, a slow, thoughtful smile spreading across her lips. “Mr. Elias,” she began, her voice a warm, melodic contralto, “you have brought me something… remarkable.”
