He sat up, the movement fluid, and looked around his small room. Sunlight dappled the worn wooden floor, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air like tiny, silent sprites. They don’t hold your pain. They simply bloom, as they always have.” Her words had been a seed, planted in the fertile soil of his weary soul, and now, it seemed, they were beginning to sprout.
