She traced the worn spines of books, each one a silent guardian of stories, and her thoughts drifted, as they often did, to Scheherazade.

Scheherazade. The name itself was a silken thread, weaving through Danguolė’s imagination. She pictured the queen, her eyes bright with a thousand nights, spinning tales that held a king captive, not with chains, but with the sheer, shimmering magic of words. Each night, a new adventure, a new world, a new possibility. And Danguolė, nestled in her own quiet corner of the world, felt a strange kinship with that legendary storyteller.

Was her own mind not also a vast, uncatalogued archive, filled with the hushed rustle of untold stories? She remembered the faint, unsettling feeling, like a loose thread snagging her sleeve, that she wasn't the Solomon she had once so confidently imagined herself to be. Solomon, with his pronouncements and his perceived all-knowing wisdom. That felt… finished. Like a book closed, its final page read. But Scheherazade’s stories, they were never finished. They unfurled, page after page, night after night, each one leading to another, a boundless, beautiful unfolding.
