The air grew heavy, thick with the scent of damp earth and something ancient, something that hummed with a power I couldn’t quite name. Kael, his steps unnervingly silent on the moss-slicked stones, led me deeper into the grotto. Sunlight, once a comforting presence, now filtered through cracks in the rock ceiling in splintered, ethereal beams, illuminating swirling dust motes like tiny, trapped stars. Every breath I took felt charged, as if the very air was a tapestry of stories waiting to be unraveled.
We emerged into a vast cavern, its walls shimmering with a faint, bioluminescent glow. In the center, perched on a natural throne of obsidian, sat a woman. Her face was a map of time, etched with wrinkles that spoke of centuries, yet her eyes… her eyes were like pools of molten gold, sharp and impossibly clear. This, I knew with a certainty that vibrated through my bones, was the Oracle.
“Welcome, child of the Loom,” her voice was a resonant whisper, like the rustling of dry leaves, yet it filled the cavern, echoing in the stillness. It held a weight, a knowing, that made my own heart pound a frantic rhythm against my ribs.
