The air in the abandoned scriptorium hung thick with the scent of decaying parchment and the ghosts of forgotten ink. Dust motes danced in the slivers of moonlight that pierced the grimy, arched windows, illuminating the chaos of overturned tables and scattered scrolls. Elara, her heart a frantic hummingbird against her ribs, traced a faint symbol on a tattered map fragment. It was a celestial alignment, twisted and distorted, unlike anything she’d ever charted. This was the work of the Obsidian Hand, she knew it. They were not just seeking to control the Quadrants of Destiny; they were actively trying to warp them, to sow discord, to unravel the very fabric of the world.

Now, standing in this desecrated archive, his words echoed in her mind. The map fragment was a deliberate misdirection, a breadcrumb leading them into a trap. “This isn’t the alignment,” Elara murmured, her fingers brushing over the crude, uneven lines. “It’s… a mockery.”
