Detective Anya Sharma believed in facts. Tangible, verifiable, indisputable facts. Her desk was a testament to this philosophy: meticulously organized files, a precisely aligned pen holder, and a corkboard adorned with pins and string, mapping out the city’s petty crimes and larger injustices with a stark, logical clarity. But lately, the city had begun to feel… illogical. A creeping unease, a dissonance that no amount of careful categorization could smooth out. It read like a meticulous plan, but for what, Anya couldn’t yet fathom.

“Anything, Anya?” Sergeant Miller’s voice boomed from the doorway, a familiar rumble that usually brought a sense of grounded reality.
