The classroom hummed with a familiar, chaotic energy. A cacophony of voices – some dissecting upcoming exams, others scrambling to finish assignments before the bell – filled the air. Amidst this intellectual storm, Kiro remained a quiet island, his gaze lost somewhere beyond the grimy windowpane, tracing the vast expanse of the sky.

"The day is beautiful," he murmured, a soft sigh escaping his lips.

Gordon, who had been idly doodling on his notebook, glanced up, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "Since when did you start taking an interest in the sky, Kiro?"

Kiro rolled his eyes, a familiar gesture of playful exasperation. "Can't a person just admire something?"

"Sure," Gordon conceded, a knowing smirk playing on his lips. "But usually, you're just contemplating when you can next nap."

A chuckle rumbled in Kiro's chest. "You're not wrong."

And that was the truth of it, really. Most people, even those closest to him, had no idea how deeply Kiro’s thoughts ran beneath the surface of his easygoing facade. Behind the jokes and the casual demeanor lay a mind wrestling with profound questions. What was the true purpose of his existence? What significance could an ordinary person like him possibly hold in this vast, indifferent world? He wasn’t a hero, not special in any discernible way. Just… ordinary. And that thought, like a persistent shadow, often clung to him.

The final bell chimed, releasing the students from their academic confinement. Kiro and Gordon walked home together, the familiar rhythm of their footsteps a comforting counterpoint to the quiet street. The air was still, a gentle breeze rustling the leaves on the trees.

"Kiro," Gordon began, his voice a low murmur.

"Hmm?"

"Do you have a dream?"

Kiro paused, his brow furrowed in thought. "A dream?"

"Yeah."

He considered the question, the late afternoon sun casting long shadows around them. "Maybe," he finally replied, his voice softer. "I just want to live a life I won't regret."

Gordon’s smile was gentle. "Simple."

"Yeah." Kiro turned the question back. "What about you?"

Gordon stopped walking, his gaze fixed on a distant point. After a moment's hesitation, he said, "Maybe… to protect the people who are important to me."

Kiro’s smile returned, a genuine warmth spreading across his face. "You’re always so serious."

"And you're always so unplanned," Gordon countered, a playful jab.

"I have plans," Kiro insisted, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "I plan to be rich."

Gordon shook his head, a fond exasperation evident in his expression. "I knew it."

"You're funny," Kiro said, nudging him playfully.

They walked on, oblivious to the weight of their seemingly simple conversation. They couldn't possibly know that these words, these shared moments of youthful idealism, would soon become precious memories, anchors to a past that would feel impossibly distant. For the day was fast approaching when protecting loved ones would cease to be a mere aspiration and transform into a grave, inescapable responsibility.

**GORDON'S SECRET**

As they continued their walk, Gordon’s gaze drifted to Kiro. He had known Kiro for as long as he could remember, from the carefree days of childhood when the world seemed a simple, uncomplicated place, free of the burdens that now weighed on them. Yet, as the years had passed, a persistent emotion had taken root within him, a feeling he couldn’t shake and dared not voice.

"Kiro," he began, the words catching in his throat. "If only you knew…"

He trailed off, the unspoken thoughts swirling in his mind. *If only you knew how important you are to me.* But like always, the words remained trapped, a silent confession. For Gordon, the greatest value lay in simply being by Kiro's side, even if it was only as a friend. The risk of losing Kiro entirely, of shattering the comfortable equilibrium of their friendship, was too great a price to pay for a truth that might never be reciprocated.

**BENEATH THE EARTH**

Meanwhile, far removed from the sunlit world of humans, in a realm of perpetual darkness, unseen and unknown, a being stirred. A creature that had slumbered for ages, patiently awaiting its moment. The chamber was vast, its colossal pillars carved from obsidian, reflecting no light. Millions of demons knelt in silent reverence, their forms indistinct in the oppressive gloom. And at the far end of the cavernous hall, upon a throne of jagged rock, sat a figure whose eyes slowly, deliberately, opened. A pair of crimson orbs, burning with an ancient, malevolent light.

"At last," a low, guttural voice whispered, the sound echoing through the immense space. "The seal… it begins to weaken."

The figure rose, and the very foundations of the dark realm trembled. The air grew heavy, thick with an unseen power. "Humanity," the voice boomed, a chilling promise of destruction. "I have waited so long for you."

His name… was DEMON LORD GORNASH.

**BACK TO THE HUMAN WORLD**

Night had fallen by the time Kiro and Gordon finally reached their homes. They were utterly unaware that the familiar tapestry of their lives was about to be irrevocably torn apart. For on this very night, something descended from the heavens. Not a star, not a meteor, but a message. A transmission from an ancient, forgotten power. And this message, impossibly, was meant for Kiro Noriko.

A faint shimmer, invisible to the human eye, pulsed in the darkness above. Within the digital ether, a cascade of data began to flow.

`[UNKNOWN ENERGY DETECTED]`

The words flickered, cold and impersonal, in a space beyond human comprehension.

`[SEARCHING FOR COMPATIBLE HOST...]`

A silent, cosmic search was underway, a probe into the fabric of reality.

`[DESTINY ACTIVATION BEGINS...]`

The process had been initiated. For Kiro Noriko, the ordinary boy who questioned his purpose, the universe had just sent him a signal, a prelude to a destiny he could never have imagined. The quiet hum of his ordinary life was about to be drowned out by a storm of extraordinary events, a storm that had been brewing in the shadows for millennia. The shadow of Gornash was stirring, and in response, a different kind of shadow was about to awaken within Kiro.
