Chapter 1
Whispers of the Ordinary
Kiro and Gordon, two ordinary boys, share a quiet walk home, discussing their simple dreams. Kiro ponders his purpose, feeling unremarkable, while Gordon cherishes their friendship, hiding deeper feelings.
The classroom buzzed with the familiar chaos of teenage life. Chatter about upcoming exams mingled with the frantic rustle of papers as students scrambled to finish assignments. Amidst it all, Kiro found himself gazing out the window, his attention caught by the vast expanse of the sky.
"It's a beautiful day today," he murmured, lost in the shifting blues and whites.
Gordon, seated beside him, glanced over with a raised eyebrow. "Since when did you get so interested in the sky, Kiro?"
Kiro rolled his eyes, a faint smile playing on his lips. "Can't a guy just admire it?"
"Sure," Gordon replied, his tone laced with amusement. "But usually, you're just thinking about when you can next take a nap."
Kiro let out a soft chuckle. "You're not wrong."
The truth was, Kiro often found himself adrift in thoughts that ran deeper than anyone suspected. Beneath his easygoing, joking exterior lay a wellspring of questions, a quiet yearning for something more. What was the true purpose of his existence? What impact, if any, would he ever have on this world? He wasn't a hero, nor did he possess any extraordinary abilities. He was just an ordinary person, and that was a thought that often weighed on him.
After the final bell rang, Kiro and Gordon fell into their usual rhythm, walking home together along the quiet streets. The air was still, and a gentle breeze whispered through the trees. As they walked, Gordon broke the silence.
"Kiro."
"Hmm?"
"Do you have a dream?"
Kiro turned to face him, a flicker of surprise in his eyes. "A dream?"
"Yeah," Gordon confirmed.
Kiro paused, considering the question. "Maybe," he said slowly. "I guess I just want to live a life I won't regret."
Gordon smiled, a genuine, warm expression. "That's simple."
"Yeah," Kiro agreed. "What about you?"
Gordon stopped for a moment, his gaze distant. "Maybe," he began, his voice softer, "to protect the people who are important to me."
Kiro grinned. "You're always so serious."
"And you're always so without a plan," Gordon retorted, a playful glint in his eyes.
"I have one," Kiro insisted.
"Oh yeah? What is it?"
"To get rich," Kiro declared with a mischievous grin.
Gordon just shook his head, a fond smile on his face. "I knew it."
"You're funny," Kiro teased.
Little did they know, that simple conversation, so ordinary in its context, would become a cherished memory, a beacon they would cling to in the tumultuous years ahead. For the day would come when protecting those they held dear would no longer be a mere dream, but a solemn, life-altering responsibility.

As they continued their walk, Gordon’s gaze drifted to Kiro. He had known Kiro for as long as he could remember, since they were little kids with no worries in the world, when life seemed so wonderfully uncomplicated. But as the years passed, a feeling had taken root within him, a sentiment he couldn't quite shake, something he dared not voice.
"Kiro," he started, then hesitated. "If only you knew..."
He trailed off, the unspoken words lingering in the air between them. "If only you knew how much you mean to me."
But, as always, the words remained locked away. For Gordon, the most important thing was to remain by Kiro's side, even if it was just as a friend. The thought of losing that proximity, of Kiro slipping away, was a far greater fear than any unspoken confession.

Meanwhile, far removed from the mundane world of humans, in a place shrouded in perpetual darkness, a being stirred. A creature that had long been waiting, its slumber finally at an end. The chamber was immense, its colossal pillars carved from obsidian-like stone. Millions of demons knelt in hushed reverence, their forms a sea of shadow. And at the far end of the vast hall, a throne stood, imposing and ancient.
Slowly, deliberately, the eyes of the one seated upon the throne opened. A pair of crimson orbs that pierced the gloom.
"At last," a low, resonant voice whispered, the sound echoing through the cavernous space. "The seal begins to weaken."
He rose, and the very foundations of the realm trembled. "Humanity..."
A cruel smile spread across his spectral features. "I have waited for you for so long."
His name was Demon Lord Gornash.

Back in the human world, as dusk settled and Kiro and Gordon finally reached their homes, neither had any inkling that their lives, the lives they had known, were on the precipice of an irreversible change. For as night descended, something descended from the heavens. Not a star, nor a meteor, but a message, an ancient power reaching out. And that message, impossibly, was for Kiro Noriko.
A cascade of data, alien and profound, flooded his senses.

The world, so ordinary just moments before, was about to become anything but. The quiet contemplation of a young boy, the unspoken affections of his friend, and the ancient machinations of a dark lord were all converging, a prelude to a destiny Kiro could never have imagined. The whispers of the ordinary were about to be drowned out by the thunder of the extraordinary.
