The air crackled, heavy with the scent of decay and the metallic tang of fear. Eira stood at the precipice, the whispering blight clawing at the edges of her vision, a suffocating shroud over the once vibrant heart of the ancient forest. "You cannot stop this, little blossom," it hissed, tendrils of blight reaching out like skeletal fingers. "The rot is inevitable. All life succumbs to the dust."

Eira’s heart hammered against her ribs, a frantic bird trapped in a cage of bone. She saw the faces of her village, the frightened eyes of Elder Maeve, the bewildered concern of Kael. She felt the agony of the wilting trees, the silent plea of the dying earth. The weight of it all pressed down, threatening to crush her resolve. But beneath the fear, a fierce, unwavering love for her world burned, a flame that the encroaching darkness could not extinguish.
