Chapter 8
A Choice Forged in Light
The Corrupted Spirit offers Eira a choice: succumb to its despair or face a devastating personal sacrifice to heal the land. Eira grapples with the immense cost, her own life force versus the world's survival.
The air in the heart of the blight was thick, cloying, and heavy with the scent of decay. Eira’s heart pounded a frantic rhythm against her ribs, a stark contrast to the oppressive stillness of the corrupted grove. The blight had leeched the vibrant life from everything around them, leaving behind a landscape of grey dust and skeletal husks. Yet, even in this desolation, a faint, persistent hum of life resonated within her, a tiny ember refusing to be extinguished. It was the echo of the forest she had loved, the whisper of the magic that flowed through her veins.
