Alex’s breath hitched, the air thick with the smell of ozone and something akin to burnt sugar. Before them, the world shimmered, not with the gentle hum of established code, but with a violent, jagged pulse. The Rainbow Bridge, once a vibrant arc of pure light connecting the Sky Islands to the Crystal Caves, was fraying at the edges. Streaks of muddy brown and sickly green bled into the spectrum, and pieces of it, like shattered stained glass, were dissolving into the void below.
“No, no, no,” Alex muttered, their hands flying to their mouth. This was worse than the Logic Bugs, a thousand times worse than the Data Dragon’s fiery rampage. This was the Glitch, manifesting in its full, terrifying glory. It was a tear in the very fabric of this world, and it was spreading.
A frantic chirping sound cut through the growing dread. Pixel, a blur of emerald and sapphire pixels, zipped around Alex’s head, their large, inquisitive eyes wide with panic. “It’s… it’s worse than we thought, Alex! The recursive riddle… it’s not just a riddle anymore. It’s a *rupture*!”
