The air, once thick with the cloying scent of fear and the acrid tang of defeat, now hummed with a vibrant, sweet perfume. It was the fragrance of the Faberlic, no longer a symbol of Elara’s shame, but a beacon of her triumph. Sunlight, warm and golden, streamed through the high windows of the Grand Alchemist’s Hall, illuminating the dust motes dancing in the newly peaceful air. Gone were the shadows that had clung to Elara like a second skin, replaced by the gentle glow of respect and admiration.
A collective sigh of relief rippled through the assembled alchemists, their faces, etched with worry moments before, now softened with gratitude.
