The air grew colder as Elara followed Lyra through a winding, forgotten path. The trees, once vibrant with the magic of the Whispering Woods, now twisted into gnarled, skeletal shapes, their branches clawing at the bruised twilight sky. Lyra, usually so quick with a jest or a shrewd observation, was unusually quiet, her sharp eyes darting into the deepening shadows. Elara clutched the Faberlic bottle, its cool glass a comforting weight against her palm. It was Thorne’s hidden message, a cryptic riddle etched into the lining of his old alchemy journal, that had led them here. "Where shadows gather, and ambition bleeds, the Obsidian Hand plants its dark seeds." Lyra had confirmed the rumors: a hidden stronghold, a place where the Obsidian Hand plotted their wicked schemes.

"Are you sure about this, Lyra?" Elara whispered, the words barely disturbing the oppressive silence. "This place… it feels wrong."

Lyra gave a short, humorless laugh. "Wrong is my business, Elara. And right now, this place is humming with it. The Hand is strong here. They think no one dares to tread so close to their nest." She paused, her gaze fixed on a particularly dense thicket of thorns. "Thorne’s clues were good. Too good. It makes me wonder what he truly knew, and why he never told you."
