Chapter 14

Rocky's Rampage

Rocky, a pet dog, is introduced as an example of a misrepresented animal. This chapter will depict Rocky, accompanied by his handler, exhibiting all the hallmarks of an untrained pet in a public place – perhaps barking excessively, pulling on his leash, or attempting to interact inappropriately with patrons. This scene will serve as a concrete illustration of the problem of fraud, highlighting the disruption and confusion such behavior causes, and setting up the conflict for subsequent chapters.

Mr. Henderson paused, his brow furrowing slightly. He’d seen a lot of dogs in his cafe over the years, and he prided himself on being accommodating. But there was something about this particular canine’s demeanor that felt… off.
