The Shadow of Possession

Jasper, the undisputed king of Northwood High, leans against his locker, a predatory stillness about him. His gaze, sharp and assessing, lands on Emery as she fumbles with her schedule. Her bright aura, a stark contrast to the usual muted tones of the school, is like a beacon. He’s accustomed to getting what he wants, to bending others to his will, and something about Emery’s defiant spark ignites a fierce, possessive fire within him. He sees her not as a person, but as a prize. A slow, dangerous smile spreads across his face. She’s new, she’s different, and he decides, right then and there, that she belongs to him.
