I pulled the blanket higher, as if it could shield me from the quiet hum of guilt that had settled deep in my chest. The laughter and easy camaraderie of the night before felt like a distant dream, a mirage that had evaporated with the first hint of dawn.

My head throbbed a dull, rhythmic beat, a physical manifestation of the turmoil brewing inside. It wasn't just the lingering effects of the alcohol; it was the weight of what had happened, the knowledge that my momentary lapse in judgment had consequences far beyond a simple hangover. Leo. The thought of his wide, innocent eyes, the unwavering honesty that usually shone from them, sent a fresh wave of shame washing over me. He had seen me. He had seen me, his older brother, the one he looked up to, letting go of the reins, stepping into a realm he didn't yet understand, and he had done what he thought was right. He had reported it.
