Chapter 17
Confrontation at the Twilight Gate
The Shadow Weaver intercepts them as they try to return, blocking the path to the kingdom. A fierce battle ensues, the fate of the land hanging in the balance as Luna wields the Jade Paw.
The air, once alive with the gentle hum of the Whispering Wind Kingdom, now thrummed with a palpable tension. The Jade Paw, cool and vibrant in Luna’s grasp, pulsed with a soft, emerald light, a beacon against the encroaching gloom. They had emerged from the Glimmering Caves, the artifact secured, and the path back to their beloved kingdom lay before them, a ribbon of moonlight stretching towards home. It writhed and twisted, a hungry maw of shadow, and from its depths, a voice like scraping stones echoed, devoid of warmth or life. "So, the little kitten has found her prize. A trinket, meant for the dust of ages, now clutched in paws too clumsy to understand its power."
The Shadow Weaver. Luna’s fur bristled. Beside her, Jasper let out a low growl, his body tensed, ready to spring. Willow, usually so nimble, stood frozen for a moment, her bright eyes wide with apprehension.
