The Moonpetal Oasis shimmered, a haven of soft moonlight and the sweet perfume of blossoms that had bloomed only for this ethereal night. Luna, her fur catching the silvery glow, felt a peace she hadn't known since the shadows began to lengthen across their land. Jasper, usually so stoic, sat beside her, his tail a relaxed curve against the cool, damp earth. Willow, perched on a nearby flowering branch, hummed a soft, wind-borne melody. It was a moment of quiet respite, a fragile bubble of calm before the storm they knew was still brewing.

Jasper, however, didn't just react; he convulsed. A low growl, more fear than aggression, rumbled in his chest. His fur bristled not with alertness, but with a primal terror. He scrambled backward, his eyes wide and fixed on the encroaching darkness in the water. His tail, which had been so relaxed, was now tucked tightly between his legs, a clear sign of his distress.
