Kro's New Glow

The night air hummed with the cheerful, twinkling ballet of the fireflies. Kro watched from the edge of the dew-kissed meadow, his own little light a soft, hesitant pulse. Tonight, the games were particularly lively. They swooped and swirled, painting streaks of emerald and gold against the velvet sky, their laughter like tinkling bells carried on the breeze. The other fireflies had buzzed in agreement, their lights flaring in a cascade of approval.
