Chapter 21
Episode 21 consequences
Finally everyone realizes exactly who room is he's not this charming fine loving guy that he portrays herself to be and at this point in time he will be going to jail for all the abuse that he has put on me on Reka
The sterile air of the interrogation room did little to calm Rome’s agitated nerves. Detective Evans sat opposite him, his gaze steady, almost unnervingly calm. The anonymous tip had been the catalyst, a whispered truth that had finally pierced Rome’s carefully constructed facade. He’d been brought in for questioning, not as a grieving husband searching for his lost wife, but as a suspect. Evans laid out the evidence, not with accusations, but with a quiet certainty that chipped away at Rome’s denials. He spoke of Reka’s bruises, not the ones Rome had inflicted and then forgotten, but the ones documented by medical professionals years ago, the ones Reka had never reported. He spoke of the financial irregularities, the subtle ways Rome had isolated Reka, chipping away at her independence. Rome stammered, his usual bluster deflating with each carefully chosen word from the detective. He tried to twist the narrative, to paint Reka as unstable, as the one who had abandoned him. But Evans’s eyes held no judgment, only a grim understanding. He’d seen this before, the pattern of control, the insidious erosion of a person’s spirit. Then came the details, the specific, undeniable accounts of Rome’s violence, corroborated by testimonies Reka had finally found the courage to share, aided by Maria’s unwavering support. The drowning attempt in the bathtub, the public humiliation outside the school, the constant stream of women paraded through their home – these weren’t fabrications, they were documented facts. Rome’s face contorted, a mixture of rage and disbelief. He was being cornered, his arrogance crumbling into a desperate, pathetic plea. But Evans was unmoved. He stood, the rustle of his jacket a final punctuation mark. “Mr. Rome,” he said, his voice low, “we have enough. Enough to bring you in. Enough to answer for what you’ve done.” The click of the handcuffs echoed in the silence that followed, a sound that Rome, in his darkest moments, had never truly believed he would hear. It was the sound of his carefully crafted world imploding, the sound of consequences finally catching up.
