Chapter 18
Bright Against the Dark
Night comes on and shadows spread, my golden glow shines overhead — brighter still when dark is deep, beacon light while others sleep.
When night rolls deep and shadows stretch their reach, and quiet fears come creeping where I teach — I lift my gold to glow against the black, a steady light that never will go slack. The darker it becomes, the brighter I burn, turning my pain into a flame to discern. No star to guide, no moon to lend its ray, just my own warmth to light the night away. I shine so my little ones can sleep in peace, so my own weary heart can find release. Darkness is just the canvas for my glow, proof that my true light has nowhere else to go. Let the world turn cold and dim around my place — I’ll be the sun, the comfort, and the grace. Bright against the dark, standing tall and free, the golden light I always knew to be.
