Chapter 8
The Sunken Temple
Their path leads to ancient ruins partially submerged in moonlit waters. Here, they face their first true test, navigating treacherous paths and solving an age-old riddle.
The air grew heavy with the scent of damp earth and ancient stone as Luna, Jasper, and Elder Whisperwind approached the edge of the Whispering Marshes. The water, usually a placid mirror reflecting the amethyst moon, now swirled with an unsettling murkiness. Moonlight, however, still managed to pierce through the gloom, illuminating the skeletal remains of a structure half-swallowed by the swamp. Luna, her fur still damp from the earlier rain, felt a shiver that had nothing to do with the chill in the air. The temple, with its crumbling arches and moss-covered pillars, seemed to exhale an aura of forgotten power. Strange, phosphorescent fungi clung to the submerged stones, casting an eerie green glow that danced with the moonlight on the water’s surface.
