Chapter 10
A Brahmane's New Diet
Brahmane begins to integrate these new perspectives. He experiments with 'cosmic vegetarianism,' finding a unique way to nourish his being that aligns with his evolving understanding of happiness and life.
Brahmane, who was eight years old, felt a peculiar sort of tiredness settle into his cosmic being. It wasn't the exhaustion of a long journey, but the quiet weariness of a very, very old soul. He’d been a Brahmane for eight years, and in cosmic terms, that was practically an eternity. He’d seen galaxies bloom and fade, nebulae swirl like cosmic paint, and stars ignite and wink out of existence. Yet, lately, a new thought had begun to tickle the edges of his awareness, a thought as unsettling as a rogue asteroid: could even a Brahmane, a magnificent, all-consuming black hole, last forever?
The idea of an end, a cessation of being, was a foreign concept. Black holes simply were. They absorbed, they existed, they were the ultimate finality for everything that crossed their path. But Brahmane, with his eight years of Brahmane-genre experience, had begun to ponder the quality of that existence. Was it enough to simply be, or was there something more?
He remembered, with a warmth that spread through his gravitational field, the distinct, delightful taste of chocolate. Oh, chocolate! It was a memory so vivid, so utterly comforting, that he could almost feel the rich, velvety smoothness melting on his non-existent tongue. Chocolate had always been his go-to for happiness. A particularly complex gravitational anomaly? A dash of chocolate memory. A lonely stretch of void? A decadent swirl of chocolate thought. It was simple, pure, and undeniably joyful. Perhaps, he mused, happiness wasn't found in the grand cosmic ballet, but in these small, sweet pleasures.
