Slowly and painfully, she comes to know the heavy, hollow feeling of being steadily undervalued by the very people she loves most and serves best. Every care she offers, every effort she makes, every sacrifice she quietly accepts — all begin to fade softly into the background of daily life, until they seem almost invisible, as if they were simply things that happen naturally and require no thanks or notice at all. Her presence becomes something they rely upon like air or light: always there, always expected, yet rarely looked at with gratitude or wonder. She is the one who remembers details, softens tensions, fills gaps, and adjusts herself to make things easier — yet in return, she is seldom asked what she needs or what she carries. When she is near, she blends so seamlessly into the fabric of their days that they forget she is made of heart and feeling too; only if she were ever gone or silent would they perhaps realize how much she held in place all along. This quiet realization echoes again and again within her: that the love given freely and without demand is, sadly, often the very first kind to be mistaken for something that costs nothing at all.
