Felix’s study was a sanctuary of dust and parchment, a place where the air itself seemed to hum with the weight of forgotten ages. Sunlight, thick with motes, slanted through the grimy windowpanes, illuminating stacks of leather-bound tomes, brittle scrolls tied with faded ribbons, and an assortment of peculiar artifacts. John, Jack, and Alex sat amidst this scholarly chaos, the scent of old paper and something vaguely earthy clinging to them.

Felix, his brow furrowed in concentration, traced a gnarled finger across a page of an impossibly old book. The script was a dizzying labyrinth of symbols, some vaguely familiar, others utterly alien. He murmured to himself, a low, continuous stream of words that sounded like a forgotten language.

“This,” he finally announced, his voice a little hoarse, “this is the key. Not the fragmented whispers we found before, but the actual incantation. It’s… dense. Packed with meaning. The old tongue is notoriously precise, leaving no room for interpretation.” He paused, his eyes scanning the lines again. “It speaks of balance, of anchoring the malevolent energy to something tangible. Something that has been corrupted by its passage.”
