The silver bloom of the locket had settled against Elara’s skin, a cool, comforting weight that felt both ancient and new. Sleep had become a different country since the locket had found its way to her, a land of swirling colors and fragmented whispers. Each night, the veil between worlds thinned, allowing glimpses of a life not entirely her own. She saw women, their faces etched with a quiet strength, their hands moving with a grace that suggested a hidden language. They moved through sun-dappled forests, their forms shimmering with an inner light, and their eyes held the deep, knowing calm of those who understood the world’s secret currents.

One dream, more vivid than the rest, had left her breathless upon waking. She stood on a precipice, the wind a silken caress against her cheeks, and below, a valley unfolded like a tapestry woven from moonlight and emerald. In the center of this valley pulsed a soft, luminous glow, a beacon that drew her gaze with an almost physical pull. Then, a shadow, vast and formless, stretched across the luminous heart of the valley, threatening to extinguish its gentle light. A cold dread, ancient and primal, seeped into her bones. She had reached for the locket, which lay nestled in her palm, its silver petals unfurling as if in recognition of her fear.
