Chapter 10

Forging an Alliance

Under the cloak of night, Elara and Valerius work in a tense, focused collaboration. Her hands, stained with the earth and potent herbs, mix poultices and tinctures, while Valerius, with his intimate knowledge of vampiric physiology, guides her, suggesting refinements and sharing forgotten lore. They combine her natural remedies with his unique abilities, creating a dangerous, experimental defense strategy. This pact, forged in the face of overwhelming odds, binds them together, their shared purpose a fragile shield against the encroaching darkness that threatens to consume Oakhaven.
