Detour to the Whispering Woods
A wrong turn leads them to a mystical forest. They encounter a peculiar hermit who offers cryptic advice and a magical berry, hinting at the strange and wonderful paths their journey will take.
The rumble of the scooter was a distant hum now, a memory fading with each mile they put between themselves and their quiet village. Baba Yaga, her eyes alight with the thrill of the open road, navigated the winding path with a confidence that belied her years. Anya, perched precariously behind her, clung to Baba Yaga’s waist, her knuckles white. The Talking Crow, nestled in a specially fashioned basket, grumbled under his breath, a constant stream of dire warnings and complaints.
“Are you sure this is the right way, Baba Yaga?” Anya’s voice was a thin thread of anxiety against the wind. “This road… it doesn’t look like the map.”
Baba Yaga chuckled, a sound like dry leaves rustling. “Maps, my dear Anya, are for those who are afraid to discover their own paths. This road,” she leaned into a curve, the scooter humming contentedly, “feels right. It has a certain… pull.”
