The air in the prime number passages grew heavy, thick with an unspoken tension that even Pip’s boundless optimism couldn’t entirely dispel. They followed the winding, luminous pathways, each turn a new, unpredictable sequence of glowing digits. Professor Sum, his brow furrowed in concentration, scanned the walls, his eyes darting from one prime number to the next. “Grump has been here,” he stated, his voice a low rumble. “And he has not been idle.”

Pip’s antennae twitched, a ripple of unease passing through their smooth, rounded form. “Traps, Professor?”

“Of a sort,” the old Numberblob replied, tapping a particularly vibrant cluster of sevens. “Grump’s traps are not of the physical variety, Pip. They are woven from deception, designed to misdirect, to confuse, to lead the unwary astray. He understands that the greatest number is not found by brute force, but by acuity of mind. And he seeks to exploit that very truth.”
