The opulent chambers, once a sanctuary of plush velvet and sun-drenched naps, now felt like a gilded cage. Bartholomew, still wrestling with the sheer absurdity of his predicament, found himself adrift in a sea of silken cushions and whispered pleasantries. This kingdom has awaited its rightful heir for generations.” Her gaze, however, had lingered a moment too long, a flicker of something unreadable in those piercing blue depths. It was the kind of gaze that saw not just the pampered housecat, but the inconvenient claimant to her throne.
