Roary's Master Hiding Spot

Roary takes the 'Hide-and-Sleep' game very seriously. He scampers off, determined to find the best, most hidden spot in the entire den. He giggles with excitement as he searches.

Roary’s tail gave a mighty flick. Papa Tiger’s “Hide-and-Sleep” idea was the best idea EVER! Better than the pillow fort. Better than the snack attack. Better even than chasing his own tail until he got dizzy! Because this game was about hiding, and Roary was the undisputed champion of hiding. He’d hidden from Mama Tiger when she wanted him to brush his teeth. He’d hidden from Papa Tiger when they were supposed to be tidying up his toys. He’d even hidden from his own reflection in the water bowl once, just to see if it would get confused. And what was sleep but a sort of hiding, anyway? A hiding from being awake. Perfect!

“Okay, Papa!” Roary squeaked, his voice a tiny rumble of excitement. “I’m going to find the *most* hidden spot in the whole wide den!”

Papa Tiger’s eyes twinkled. “That’s the spirit, cub! Remember, the goal is to hide so well that even Mama and I can’t find you for a whole minute. Then, you can… well, you know.” He winked at Mama Tiger, who managed a weary but hopeful smile.
